Win Lap 2 in the KBS team car at Philly International!
so proud! (and jealous!)
while i raced in tulsa, scott was tearing it up on the east coast. it’s all been a blur to me with all the travel, but i don’t think one race has gone by without his team being on the podium, culminating in yesterday’s 3rd place for scott. i can’t wait until i can get these kind of results! i mean, even dan schmatz can’t stop thinking about him!!!

The National Dish of Uruguay and my pics
First of all, i finally made an album of my photos from Uruguay. View it on Kodakgallery.com.
This,

is a Chivito.
Definition of the Chivito, from Wikipedia: Chivito is the name of a sandwich-style national dish in Uruguay, and consists primarily of churrasco beef, bacon, mayonnaise, black or green olives, mozzarella and tomatoes, served in a bun with a side of french fries. Other ingredients might be added into the sandwich such as fried and/or hard eggs, red beets, grilled or pan fried red peppers, pickles and ham.
Definition of the Chivito, from me: Awesome!
This sandwich was a key ingredient in the Kelly Benefit Strategies team diet in Uruguay.

El Primero
As you see from emily’s last post, i won the yellow jersey during the Vuelta ciclista del Uruguay. And I was able to finish the race still wearing it, thanks to my strong teammates.
You can read all about it here.
Here are two pictures that i took, one from the start and one from the end.

We survived the Hotel California

Reid guarding some of the luggage at the end in LAX. My trophies survived the trip, you can see them wrapped up in blue.

he’s in yellow…
…one day left in the Tour of Uruguay. i am beside myself with anxious energy. does anybody want me to make them 4 dozen cookies? or do your laundry? anything to keep the hands busy and the mind preoccupied…
seriously, though – feeling very proud at the moment.

WTF with the DNF?!
ok, so this is going to sound vain, and trivial, but i have to say: i did not DNF at the Sunset Road Race, as reported in cyclingnews. I was 42nd. not that this is a stellar result, and yes, i was 7 minutes down, but damnit, i finished that death-march of a race! and it was my first ever Redlands so even if i did finish 1, 567,365th 36th in GC, i want a little credit! plus, the team did great, with nascar taking 7th and chrissy in 10th, so i am proud of the girls. and i don’t want some made up DNF tainting that for me. ok, so, there. i’m done ranting.

My bike sponsor
I ran into Gary Fisher yesterday in Fairfax. Not literally, but after i passed him and realized who it was, i turned around and rode up and introduced myself. He was out with his kids, Miles and Aero, enjoying the nice weather.
After our introductions, he had me pose for a cheesy picture to put onto his Twitter. Here it is:

For all of the readers our there dont know what twitter is (By all readers, i mean ma & pa), you can read the rest of Gary’s twitter and figure it out:

Gobble Gobble
As Emily mentioned in the entry below, I did see a turkey on Paradise Rd. on Monday. Here it is:

slammed
we got roasted last night for never updating our blog. to me, it can be all too like homework, so my posts can be dry, and scott likes to post things like “i saw a wild turkey today”. so really – who’s the real winner here? you guys aren’t missing much. we are living, breathing, starting the season, much like most of you.
except we did win the berkelet ttt.
